We promote professionalism and create value for union membership.

Ingenjörsamfundet’s vision is to continuously improve the professional development of our members. Ingenjörsamfundet will be the leading society for science and technology professionals in Sweden. A facilitator.
Ingenjörsamfundet offers:
- Methods for increasing creativity and innovation in the workplace
- Legal advice in regard to employees’ inventions
- Support for entrepreneurship
- Further training
- Membership benefits

Our youth programme “Finn upp” raises the creative bar across Sweden. We shape public opinion in issues affecting our members, such as engineer shortages and the Swedish innovation climate.

The Innovators
Ingenjörsamfundet claims that Sweden currently has four million potential innovators. This equals the number of gainfully employed people across the country. New innovations are usually produced at work to bring Sweden new export successes. Ingenjörsamfundet wants to stimulate a more creative work climate and encourage everyone to develop innovative ideas. In 2009, Ingenjörsamfundet will focus on raising the innovative capacity of all employees.

TV series The Innovators was running on TV8 under 2009, and here on our website. The series shows how six workplaces managed to turn a looming crisis around and bring new hope to both employees and the business. (Swedish).

The Innovators magazine shows how the TV series was made, why new innovations are so important and how the methods shown in the TV series can help you become more innovative. (Swedish).

Test your innovation capacity on our website. How creative are you? How innovative is the work climate at your workplace? The toolbox contains advice and methods to help you succeed. (Swedish).

Finn upp
Finn upp is Sweden’s biggest and most exciting inventor competition for young people in Years 6-9. Finn upp celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2009, and Ingenjörsamfundet arranged the competition for the eleventh time. Her Majesty Crown Princess Victoria is the patron and presents the prizes. The competition has received more than 48,000 smart ideas since it started, and over three million students have contributed in some way. Finn upp uses invention as a method for learning and provide the teachers and students with a pedagogical method that we call "The Journey of Invention". Students take an everyday problem and try to solve it with a clever new invention of their own. Along the way there is much to learn: about history, about society, about technology, and not least of all about themselves! The aim is to stimulate young people’s interest in creativity and problem-solving.

Legal advice
Did you know that the most successful inventions are produced by employees? Employees should be familiar with the laws and collective agreements that regulate their rights to inventions produced at work. Free legal advice concerning employees’ inventions is included in your membership.
